Art Of (Ryan Cudworth)

Here is where I am going to put in all of the artwork that has been a substantial part within this project That has been a step towards Development of this project or has been able to give me ideas for how I would design another piece of art for the project. Also include any kind of work that would have helped me develop my artistic skills and taught me how to design any of the art that I needed for this project.

Here are the first concept sketches that I had drawn for this project. Each one of the sketches I had drawn out a piece that I would believe that I would put into my environment. I would think of how I would incorporate it into the design of my environment and what role it would have within it. Whether it would be an obstacle for the character to move around an interactive item that they would need to interact with progress or just a simple bit of extra design for the environment. Since I was doing a tomb for the environment, I had to make sure that I added in many representations of death like graves, urns, and even coffins. Even some of my non-death related objects, I had also tried to incorporate some sort of darker side like in cobwebs or back wings into the design of it.
Overall, I would like to concepts sketches that I had drawn for this piece of my project and think that it was a very large bit of my development process when working. And it also served us for when I would do later sketches further on since I would always remember to look back on what I had done and see what I had created and what kind of style was one of my concepts, Which Had helped to design later sketches and concepts.

Here are my first sketches for the design of my layout. I had drawn these after I created my concept sketches for my first formative submission. Wanted to nail down what kind of design for the layout that I wanted and also the overall design of the inside of the tomb. So I had drawn free basic layouts using a large cuboid as the Main first shape within the design and then added to it trying to add in more interesting shapes into the design as I made each one of the sketches. The one that I like the most the middle one I like how simplistic but interesting the shape was and it was very small. I think that I would be able to incorporate a lot into the design. So after I done that, I decided to do a bigger sketch where I would draw the layout of what I wanted that room to look like in a 3-D setting. Had gotten out the basic shapes I started to add where I want things to be placed within the design and what kind of scale they would be at that would be very important. Extra pieces I had drawn some different concepts with shelves ideas and how they may work and just generalised different sketches around how any extra details within the design may look.
I do admit that this sketch is not all that clean or ailed. It is still a very rough idea of what I wanted to tomb to look like. And I think it’s a very good starting place for the layout that would soon develop into my final concept.

Right here it is built and design that I had created in one of my Concept studio lessons. For this lesson, we had to create a building using what we have learnt and try to make some sort of sci-fi building.

I decided to make a type of futuristic radio tower type building that would blast out radio waves all over the world for all to hear and see. To start off with I had large cuboid shaped and then built off with other shapes getting smaller and smaller each shape trying to build out the basic shape of the building that I wanted. Since it’s supposed to be a radio tower, it has to be very tall So obviously, most of the blocks would go upwards and to help give it kind of that large protective. I thought that it would be best to make the blocks get smaller and smaller as they go up. Gotten out basic shapes and went into add in extra details and generally just adding random wires and extra bits to it to make it look more futuristic. Also added in some annotations and explanations to what stuff was around the building and even decided to draw a logo for this hypothetical Sci-fi company. And then to finish off, I had done decided to draw some autographic views of the building from different angles trying to do a front and side view, just to get used to drawing something over and over again and trying to get out as close as I can from different angles.

Even though this had nothing really to do with my project, it still helped me develop my understanding of how to create buildings when given a certain prompt. Because of doing this, I have been able to greatly improve on creating buildings and taking what I’ve learnt and putting it into something. I have definitely taken what I’ve done here and all my lessons and use them within my project.

This is some work that I had done with in my Toolkit 2 Lessons. Here are some basic sketches of some perspective pieces of work that I had done within those lessons. Within the lessons we would learn how to create shapes in 3-D setting using 2-D drawing methods. All this was important since we are creating an environment and we would most likely want to make the environment look more 3-D without actually using a 3-D modelling software. We had started off simple just trying to get the grid down So we would be able to actually create the cubes within perspective and then extended upon that. We drilled down the basics making sure that we understood what we were doing and then we moved onto much more difficult things learning how to duplicate things using vanishing lines and points, How to add lines perfectly to our cue about it being off productive, And learning how to draw out a chair within perspective and drawing out different kinds.
By doing all this work with inspective we have a properly understood how to draw out 3-D environment using 2-D methods which is very important for this project when creating concept sketches of an interior for an environment. Overall what we have learned within these lessons is very important towards this project and making sure that we get everything right.

Here are some creature designs that I had drawn with one of my lessons. The reason why I haven’t placed these drawings within here, It’s because that these creatures designs were created while doing a type of challenge which was to draw a creature design from a prompt within only five minutes. The reason for this is to help us develop our quick drawing skills and to show us that we don’t need to spend so much time on a concept when simply five minutes will do.
The top six creature designs were ones that are drawn in five minutes without any sort of prior research or image search into any sort of creatures or items that could help me. I only had the concept of underground Hunter. Wow, the bottom three are designs that created after I had looked up and garbed some images of different types of creatures that fit into the front of underground hunter and putting them into a mood board and trying to figure out what kind of design I could create. By doing this, I have been shown that Making proper move boards and other types of research collecting and gathering sources are very important when creating designs since it allows me to properly bring my forts together and do something that I can see and analyse, And it also helps me to get general shape of what I want.
Overall, I think that this is a very important lesson I had learned and has definitely greatly helped me with creating my other pieces of work for my project.

I quit some of my other work that are done. This was a piece of 3-D modelling that I had created within one of my lessons. Within this lesson, we had to just draw a basic kind of moral of our environment that we could use to help us with our concepts.
I have to admit trying to create this model. I did find difficulty with trying to get the rounded part of my model to actually be round. I tried many different ways of doing it But not many of them were very successful, but were at least a teachable moment for when I actually make my model for real for this project. Even the solution I had finally gone with was still not really how I wanted it look and even had some jiggering out which didn’t look that pleasing for a model that was supposed to be my environment.
Do you think that this has been a real help with my concept creation since it has allowed me to actually see how kind of claustrophobic my idea is and that I should probably expand it a little bit more so to give a little bit more room for the player character to kind of actually move around in since I do want this to be a sort of boss room. And overall I just think that it was very fun experience to try and make my model without any sort of help from anyone and to kind of see the difficulties that will have to overcome later on when not only trying to re-create this but adding in more stuff like the extra bits of like dirt textures and even the urns that would be displayed on the shelves. This was a very good warmup for my later modelling of my environment.
